This nursery furniture maker called it quits in 2013. Below is an archived review, in case you stumble upon the furniture second-hand.

Quebec-based crib maker A.P. Industries (also known as Generations) offers stylish cribs and case pieces, which are available in 25 different collections. A.P. has survived the recent shake-out of Canadian crib makers, partly by moving some crib production to China . . . and then back to Canada. (As of May 2012, A.P. says that all furniture production is now back in Canada).

Prices run $600 to $1000+ for a crib; $1000 for a dresser.

A.P.’s key feature is a choice of 35 different finishes and knob styles. You can even mix and match two tone finishes. It’s that level of customization that makes this brand unique. And A.P.’s take on modern (the Element; Lollipop pictured) has been a good seller.

As for dresser quality, the company uses different draw glide systems depending on the collection (the Blue Note has self-closing drawers). A.P.’s customer service has been up and down in recent years. Overall, we’ll give this brand a B—somewhere in the middle of the pack for quality and value.

FYI: A.P. is typically sold in specialty stores, but we noticed Amazon (via third party seller Wayfair.com) is carrying a smattering of AP’s cribs for $735 to $1100.
