A reader writes today with the latest update on
changes at Amazon/BRU:

Hi – I love your
Baby Bargains book – it’s been a bible for me and my husband! I just wanted to
give you all heads up about a major issue that I’m having with my Babies R Us
online registry, although I’m sure you all probably are already aware of it!

As I’m sure
you know, the Babies R Us online registry is run through Amazon.com. I found
out today, by contacting Amazon.com, that as of July 1st, Amazon.com will not be
filling orders any longer for Babies R Us. They are only filling orders for
items that are in stock, and so all the rest of the items that they don’t have
in stock any longer are listed as “currently unavailable.” I then called Babies
R Us customer service and they said that as of 7/1, they will be filling their
own online orders directly through their website. They also said that all items
that are on each individual registry will be transferred over to the new Babies
R Us website.

Both Amazon.com and Babies R Us said to put a
note on the registry stating that the registries are being transferred over to
Babies R Us from Amazon.com and in the meantime, you can purchase items off of
the registry in Babies R Us retail stores.

I can’t tell you how frustrating this has been
for me but it really seems that I can’t do anything other than add the note to
the registry. Luckily, I also have a Target.com baby
registry!

Thank you again for such a great book – I’ll
be buying the Toddler Bargains someday! Wish I had bought the Bridal
Bargains!!
