Is Amazon hearing the foot steps of competitors like Diapers.com?
In a move to bolster its baby gear business against surging competitors, Amazon launched Amazon Mom today. The pitch: members get 30% off regularly scheduled diaper delivery and FREE two-day shipping on most of your Amazon orders plus other discounts.
Membership is free; you get three months of Amazon Prime that provides free two-day shipping on Amazon orders. For each $25 you spend on a single order in the baby store, you get an additional free month of Amazon Prime (usual cost $79 a year)
FYI: despite the title, apparently dads, grandparents and others can join the program as well.
Amazon seems to be upping the ante on upstarts like Diapers.com. That site offers free two-shipping on diapers and free 1-2 day shipping on other items if you spend $49 or more.

Prior to the launch of Amazon Moms I was an Amazon Prime member and have also used Diapers.com/Soap.com. I am thrilled at this new venture by Amazon. I find their selection to be much better. Their customer service is fantastic and they have never screwed up an order. And with the Amazon prime membership I could order one small thing or one large thing (like a table & chairs set for our playroom) and get free 2-day shipping! Plus the auto-delivery feature saves me from remembering to order regular supplies like wipes.
I LOVE AMAZON!!!!!
I just signed up for this! I’ve had Amazon Prime before, and had been wanting to have it again so when I signed up for Amazon Mom I was thrilled to see I would be getting three months of free Amazon Prime. Unfortunately I’m pregnant with my first, so I’m not ready to order supplies like diapers yet, but I’m sure I will be able to add to my free Amazon prime with orders of Maternity stuff.
This seems too good to be true, has anyone found a catch?
I have used both but I have to say that Amazon is way better! With 30% off and free shipping on every order, it is so much less expensive to buy diapers off of amazon.com. It the best deal I have found and they have never messed up an order! If everyone knew about it, diapers.com would no longer be around.
