The portable/folding crib market has been rife with safety problems in recent years, with major players like Evenflo and Delta recalling their models for safety reasons. Yet small player Dream on Me has dodged those issues and has a winner with their 2 in 1 Portable mini crib. Sold online for , this crib is a good bet for Grandma’s house—it converts from a crib to a playpen and changing table.
Dream on Me also makes full-size cribs for $100 to $270. One of Dream on Me’s best-selling full-size cribs with the Violet ($129), with its swoopy side rails and six finishes (including a bright blue). See picture below right.
Overall, quality is good. However, a few critics note vague assembly directions that make first-time assembly difficult, say some parents.

Customer service at Dream on Me is wanting—readers tell us of cribs that arrive with missing parts or broken rails. Calls to a customer service line are either not returned or the company promises to ship out replacement parts . . . but never does. Our advice: if you want to buy a crib from Dream on Me, make sure the web site has a good return policy just in case.
Bottom line: Dream on Me’s folding cribs are a good alternative for grandma’s house.
