UPDATE: Q Collection has announced it is discontinuing the Q Collection Junior brand as of early 2011.

Q Collection, based in New York, bills itself as the leader in healthy and eco-safe home furnish•ings. Their junior furniture collection is GREENGUARD certified and features a line of matching organic crib bedding, mattresses and other accessories. Prices are high—the Solare crib is $1220 and other models run up to $1480. A matching dresser will set you back $1680. Made in the U.S., Q Collection furniture is sold on their web site and in a handful of pricey boutiques, including the Giggle chain. We did see this furniture in person and thought it was well constructed. But you can find similar eco-conscious nursery furni•ture made in the U.S. from the likes of Young America by Stanley (which is also GREENGUARD certified). And Young America is half the price of the Q Collection. So while Q Collection certainly scores on the eco angle, it strikes out when it comes to value. Rating: C
