Reader Alisa G just emailed us this picture of her Morigeau crib, which she said collapsed "more or less spontaneously." We are following up to find the model number, how old the crib is, etc. Fortunately, her child was not hurt.

Update: The crib is model 6298. It was manufactured in Jun 2004 and purchased in November 2004.

The CPSC has picked up this crib and is investigating this issue—the key problem is that most crib rails are glued together (even for expensive cribs like this Morigeau). If the glue dries out, the rail can collapse. The CPSC is considering requiring crib rails to be both glued AND tacked. Stay tuned for more on this subject.
