Stork
Craft continues to stumble with its purchase and relaunch of the Ragazzi brand.

First, Stork Craft pisses off past
Ragazzi customer (many of whom shelled out $700 or more for a crib) by
announcing they weren’t going to offer parts or warranty service on past Ragazzi
models.

And now Stork Craft has
re-launched the Ragazzi web site—complete with misleading and deceptive info
about the “new” Ragazzi. Check out this quote on the site’s page for “Production
Facilities”:

Our corporate
office and domestic manufacturing facility is located in Richmond BC, Canada.
With a production and storing facility of just under 200,000 square feet,
Ragazzi Furniture is able to produce as well as stock a high volume of nursery
and kids furniture.

Right below this
quote are nice pictures of the Canada plant, complete with photos of Canadians
assembling furniture.

All that is great,
but untrue—the president of Stork Craft personally told us in a meeting in
September 2006 that ALL Ragazzi furniture will be made China. We guess no one
told Ragazzi’s web masters that China and British Columbia aren’t the same
thing.

Adding insult to injury, the
site’s FAQ promises an answer on “how can I replace lost hardware for my crib
and/or bed?” Click on the link and there is no answer. Now, that might be truth
in advertising!
