Land of Nod applique jungle crib beddingWeb site: landofnod.com

Land of Nod (LON; owned by Crate & Barrel) has that hip, modern style many parents are looking for. The bedding on their site compliments cribs that include classics like Jenny Lind spool designs and mid-century modern (see our review for more on LON cribs).

Bedding at LON is a unique combination of spare geographical prints, whimsical animals and plants and unusual themes. We especially love the sentimental the Poky Little Puppy ($220 for three-piece set; pictured below) and Shy Little Kitten bedding ($222) with a tip of the hat to Little Golden Books.

Yes, it’s the Pokey Little Puppy!

Themes like pandas, the solar system, sports and natural cover just about everything a parent might desire. We like the heavily quilted blankets, cute appliques and colorful embroidery. We noticed one organic ($171 for four pieces) set as well as one jersey option (sheets are $24; blankets are $48).

All the sets at Land of Nod are 100% cotton, 200-thread count (except the jersey set and some linen blends) and are sold a la carte or in three and four-piece sets. Some designs have a duvet rather than a quilt, which necessitates the purchase of a duvet insert for $60. The duvet should only be used when your baby becomes a toddler after one year of age. Most designs offer a coordinating changing pad cover as well ($35).

Overall, we loved the color palettes LON uses, which ranged from neutrals like grey and natural to brights like sunshine yellow and coral. The patterns are unique (some are only available at Land of Nod) and the applique work is excellent. The biggest issue is price as these sets and extra sheets ($24) are on the expensive side. Rating: B
