Price:$71 to $99

Weight: 8 to 33 lbs.

Comments: Unlike the original Baby Bjorn carrier, the We carrier doesn’t allow you to carry a child facing outward. It’s three positions include high up seating for infants (but facing inward), lower seating for older babies (facing inward) and the back carry position. So it’s like an Ergobaby Original in that respect.

It’s a beefy carrier with its own ergonomic easy-to-adjust waist belt, a necessity when you’re carrying around a two or three year old child. For newborns, you’ll need to tighten the leg straps so the opening isn’t too big and there is a head support for little ones as well. The We is also available in a mesh version, the We Air ($96).

Once your child is ready to ride on your back, the We allows “you to move the baby carrier from front to back while your toddler sits in the baby carrier.” If you want to see what we’re talking about, check out the graphics and video on Baby Bjorn’s web site.

See how the We works in this video:

The fabric on the We is 100% cotton, and (like all the Bjorn carriers) meets the European Oeko-Tex standards for hazardous substances. Readers are mostly complimentary of the We. They tell us they love the waist belt and thick padded straps since they help parents carry a larger child longer. The biggest disappointment: baby can’t face out at any time. And some parents noted that the head support was so high, babies couldn’t really see well even to the side.

Overall, the We get great marks, so we’ll recommend it.
