The Best Baby Bathtub

Best Bathtub

Last updated: December 29, 2016. The Best Bathtub. After comparing and testing more than 20 different baby bathtubs, slings and seats, we picked the EuroBath by Primo as the best baby bathtub.

Scroll down for our picks for Best Folding Baby Bathtub, Best Fashion Forward Tub, Best Bath Sling and Best New Bath Product.

The EuroBath is a full size tub intended for use on a kitchen or bathroom counter and will also fit in a full size adult tub. It’s one of the biggest baby bathtubs and can accommodate babies up to 24 months. It offers two bathing positions and has molded safety supports to keep baby from slipping under water.

Parents are overwhelmingly enthusiastic about their EuroBath tubs. They love the molded supports, the huge size (they can use it up to two years of age), and its durability. (FYI: if you don’t have the room for a tub this size, check out our folding tub recommendation below). And at only $21 (for the white version; up to $43 for colors like blue or pink), you won’t break the bank.

The Best Baby Bathtub

PRIMO EuroBath

The EuroBath by Primo ($21) is a sturdy tub for babies, age birth to two. It weighs less than two pounds and is easy to use—just add baby, water and poof! Clean baby. The EuroBath is well designed, although it is big—almost three feet from end to end. It may be a tight fit if you have a small bathroom.

The First Years Sure Comfort Deluxe Newborn To Toddler Tub

The First Years’ Sure Comfort Deluxe Newborn to Toddler Tub is a simple tub, which includes a sling and foam pads to better fit a newborn.Use the sling for newborns and then remove as baby grows. Once your child is sitting up, flip the tub from the reclined side to the straight back side and your toddler can use it. Priced at $16, parents love this tub.

Best Folding Bathtub

Puj Tub baby bathtub

Best Folding Bathtub.
The Puj Tub ($45) is a soft, foldable tub designed to fit in a sink. Made of foam, it unfolds when not in use and can hang on the back of a door—perfect if you live in a tiny urban apartment.

Unfolded Puj Tub

The Puj comes in three colors and can be unfolded and hung on a hook to dry.

The only caveat: it doesn’t work with all sinks or faucets (an oval sink with a 6.5” depth is best). And it is designed for infants to six month-olds, so this won’t work for older babies and toddlers. Puj also makes a smaller, cheaper version called the Flyte, which can be folded for travel ($35). It doesn’t get as glowing reviews as the regular Puj Tub. FYI: Safety 1st makes a similar design to the Puj, called the Sink Snuggler for less: $22.

Best Fashion Forward Bathtub

Boon Naked Collapsible Bathtub

Best Fashion Forward Bathtub. Boon’s modernist take on the baby bathtub is the Naked, a folding tub for the space deprived (and fashion forward) parent. The Naked baby bathtub is collapsible with a hook to hang it in the shower and can be placed in a reclining position. The simple, colorful design makes it a pleasure to look at and use. Cost:  $50 to $60. It comes in bright teal blue, acid green and traffic cone orange.

Best Bath Sling

Summer Infant Deluxe Baby Bather

Best Bath Sling. The Summer Infant Deluxe Baby Bather is a mesh sling with three reclines and a padded head support. You can use the Bather in a full-size bathtub or a kitchen sink. It also folds down so you can store it or take it to Grandma’s. Parents like the portability, price ($13) and small size but others complained that it slips around in a big bathtub as there are no rubber grippers on the bottom.

Best New Bath Gizmo

BabyDam Bathwater Barrier

Best New Bath Product. The brand new BabyDam is a unique concept: using suction cups and a seal (the green border you see above), it allows parents to decrease the size of their regular bath tub to a size more comfortable for bathing a baby or toddler.

In the video, you can see how the BabyDam is installed.

After being sold in Europe, BabyDam is now available in the US . The cost: $40. Warning: you may see this product on Amazon.com for $60 and you’ll notice some complaints. The complaints may stem from the fact the seller is shipping the European-sized BabyDam.

Here’s how you figure out which size is right for you: If the inside width of your bath tubs is between 22.5 inches & 26.5 inches, order the BabyDam in US & Canada size. If the inside width of your bath tub is LESS THAN 22.5 inches wide, order the BabyDam in the European size.

We’re looking forward to testing the BabyDam shortly.

Why Trust Us

We’ve been rating and reviewing baby bathtubs, slings and seats since 2005. In addition to hands on testing with lots of slippery babies, we have combed the research about reliability, cleanability and efficiency. We also evaluate consumer reviews posted on sites like Babies R Us and Amazon, as well as our own message boards.

Here’s another key point: we don’t take money from the brands we review. No free samples, no sponsors, no “partnerships.” Baby Bargains is your independent and unbiased source for expert baby gear reviews. We’ve been writing and reviewing baby gear since 1994. Yes, that long!

How we picked a winner

Baby in a Bathtub

We evaluate baby bathtubs with inspections, and trials with real babies. We also gather significant reader feedback (our book, Baby Bargains has over 1 million copies in print), tracking bathtubs on quality and durability. Besides interviewing parents, we also regularly talk with retailers to see which brands are most trustworthy and other key quality metrics.
